These images are part of a photographic project about religious life in the monastic community of Camaldoli and Fonte Avellana in Italy. The photographs create a sense of deep silence, peace and holiness that coexist in these timeless places. The athmosphere can be perceived through absence and presence, emptiness and fullness, figures and objects separated sometimes by areas of darkness and light.
