Moldova is a region on the eastern side of Romania where a massive number of children are raised by their grandparents while their parents work in Italy, Spain, Germany or England. Romania joined the European Union in 2007, but it still remains the poorest member country and Moldova is the poorest region of Romania.

My work is an exploration of a family of Moldovan farmers who are raising their 16 year-old grandchild.
