Far East - Giulia Candussi

Two countries, two cities, two languages, two cultures, one piece of land. Nova Gorica, the richest and western city of Slovenia, is full of flashing lights and a great flow of money coming from the numerous night clubs, casinos, hotels and new construction sites. It was built in the typical communist style after the Second World War by the Yugoslav dictator Tito to be in opposition to the old Gorizia.

Gorizia, once called the Austrian Nice, is the last province in the far east of Italy. It’s an old city that suffers -and sometimes hides - behind the weight of history that saw it as the location of numerous conquests and conflicts.
