Dressing my faith -
Heidi Gazeley

Over the past decade Muslim women have been at the forefront of a rapid increase in the visible expressions of faith in the cosmopolitan cities of Britain, Europe and America. This increased Muslim visibility, of coloured clothing, decorated head-scarves or more traditional forms of covering has generated much public attention.

‘Dressing my faith’ looks at the unique and varied dress practices of Muslim women in London today. Beyond the dichotomy of Muslim dress conventions being either oppressive or liberating, ‘Dressing my faith’ documents the diversity of meanings attributed to the individual choices of expression.
